Good morning, Canton.

Stark County voters will cast ballots on May 6 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at precincts in Canton, Massillon, Alliance, and at new polling sites in Canal Fulton, Lawrence Township, and Jackson Township — early voting in person ended today.

The ballot features primary contests, a statewide measure to renew public works funding through Issue 2, a levy replacement for Children Services, and other local issues — voters must show an unexpired photo ID to vote.

The Mount Union women's lacrosse team won the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday by beating John Carroll 13-8 and secured an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time since 2019 — Eden Kesler scored five goals and Abby Lindkvist made 14 saves.

Earlier this week, Mount Union’s men’s track team won their 14th straight Ohio Athletic Conference title in Wilmington—Nick Franitti earned most outstanding sprinter honors for his wins in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles.

Walsh’s Joel Brown, recovering from surgeries, was named men’s freshman of the meet at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships.

Dr. Mark Tully, a retired psychology professional from Belden Village, scored a hole-in-one on the 110-yard No. 6 hole at Lyons Den in Canal Fulton on May 1 and repeated the feat eight days earlier during a senior league scramble.

Course owner Andy Lyons said he was stunned—he noted this rare performance had not been seen at the course in many years.
