- ➤ Stark County voters will cast ballots on May 6 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at precincts in Canton, Massillon, Alliance, and at new polling sites in Canal Fulton, Lawrence Township, and Jackson Township — early voting in person ended today. The ballot features primary contests, a statewide measure to renew public works funding through Issue 2, a levy replacement for Children Services, and other local issues — voters must show an unexpired photo ID to vote. - ➤ The Mount Union women's lacrosse team won the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday by beating John Carroll 13-8 and secured an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time since 2019 — Eden Kesler scored five goals and Abby Lindkvist made 14 saves. - ➤ Earlier this week, Mount Union’s men’s track team won their 14th straight Ohio Athletic Conference title in Wilmington—Nick Franitti earned most outstanding sprinter honors for his wins in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles. Walsh’s Joel Brown, recovering from surgeries, was named men’s freshman of the meet at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships. The Repository
- ➤ Dr. Mark Tully, a retired psychology professional from Belden Village, scored a hole-in-one on the 110-yard No. 6 hole at Lyons Den in Canal Fulton on May 1 and repeated the feat eight days earlier during a senior league scramble.
