GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Perry Township's fiscal officer Craig Chessler criticized trustees for approving 6% pay raises for road workers and expensive health savings account cards—saying the spending hurts taxpayers and street repaving efforts. Trustees, who omitted his report from the township newsletter, defended the measures and will seek a 2.9-mill road levy on May 6 after two previous attempts failed. The Repository
- ➤ Travelers must show a REAL ID or TSA-approved ID at airport checkpoints by May 7, so Ohio residents should visit a BMV location with documents proving their legal name, birth date, Social Security number, and Ohio residency. The new card will be mailed within 10 business days and unaccompanied minors flying commercially need a compliant card while those flying with a parent are exempt. The Repository
