- ➤ On Dec. 22, volunteers from Harvesting Hope delivered presents to 160 seniors in the Sebring area, boosting community spirit. The group, dressed in festive costumes, offered holiday cheer & lighthearted moments during their stops. The Repository
- ➤ Residents at Fresh Meadows Mobile Home Park in Perry Township experienced water loss when frozen pipes caused underground leaks beginning Dec. 7. Repairs restored water on Dec. 23 — a boil advisory remains as officials test the supply for safety. The Repository
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Over 250 free movie screenings will take place across Ohio in 2026 as part of America 250 celebrating the state's film heritage. Canton residents will enjoy “Broken Blossoms” at Canton Palace Theatre on Sept. 12 (the festival runs from Feb. to Oct.). The Repository
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost warned parents on Dec. 24 about rising child identity theft and urged freezing credit records with major bureaus (1 in 8 children compromised since 2019) as suspicious mail and debt notices signal risk. The Repository
- ➤ A Canton patient said he had to travel over 30 miles for a laser eye treatment and supports Senate Bill 36 so optometrists can perform the procedure nearby. The change could improve access + cut travel for essential care in rural areas. The Repository
