- ➤ A Newcomerstown couple launched Jaxon's Bricks for Bravery in honor of their late son, donating new Lego sets to children at Akron Children's Hospital over the holiday season. The drive is held at Sir Troy's Toy Kingdom at 4304 Belden Village St. NW until Dec. 31. The Repository
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Descendants of the Cameron family reclaimed the 'Christ and the Children' window and installed it in the McKinley Room at Crossroads United Methodist Church after it was lost from Calvary Presbyterian Church. Donated in 1953 (in honor of family members), the window now brightens the sanctuary with LED-lit color. The Repository
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Plain Local Schools board approved a proposal to seek a $116.8M bond issue (3.522-mill levy) for three new elementary schools and a future middle school. Voters will decide on the bond on the May primary ballot following several community planning sessions. The Repository

- ➤ North Canton Hoover won a 74-71 boys basketball game over Massillon on Tuesday, Dec. 23 after Connor Newell hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to seal the win. The Repository
- ➤ Stark County high school basketball games from Dec. 22-28 brought key wins as Jackson edged Strongsville 59-57 and Canton Central Catholic stayed unbeaten with a 44-39 victory; boys teams also secured wins in non-league play and at home, showcasing local talent and competitive spirit.
