COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Rev. Mervin Yoder and his wife run Hope Depot at 1213 Fulton Road NW, offering free home-cooked meals on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The nonprofit, fueled by donated food, serves about 40 people daily (supporting a mission to share hope with the community).  The Repository
  • At Calvary Cemetery in Perry Township on Dec. 13, residents honored 2,300 service members with 3,105 wreaths as the Rotary Club and Operation Flags of Freedom coordinated a ceremony that featured a 21-gun salute and a tribute to former soldier Pfc. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Stark County Sheriff's Office joined the Blue Envelope Program to help those with communication challenges during traffic stops & emergencies. North Canton Police will offer envelopes at community events planned for 2026, while free packets are available through the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities.  The Repository
  • Several communities have banned street parking in the Canton area ahead of snowfall forecast to bring 1 to 3 inches today and overnight. Plain Township (noon Dec. 13–noon Dec. 14) and Perry Township (1 p.m. Dec. 13–7 p.m. Dec. 14) are among those affected.  The Repository
