  • In November the community surprised nine-year-old Terrence who has battled stage 4 neuroblastoma by planning a special weekend that took him from Alliance to Cleveland for a hotel stay, sports visits, and media appearances—he thanked supporters from the Browns and Cavaliers as he enjoyed every moment. Terrence is now on a waitlist for trial treatments as his family continues to look for new care options.  FOX 8

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Starflyer Brewing Co. will open Dec. 3 at 500 Cleveland Ave. NW in downtown Canton during the Light Up Downtown festivities and will serve guests from 4 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 3, 4, and 5 and from 1 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 6—founded by Andrew Archer, Bailey Archer, and Ethan Comfort, the brewery plans to offer local snacks in partnership with nearby businesses.  The Repository
  • Walmart reopened today at 6 a.m.—after closing on Thanksgiving—and is now offering multi-week Black Friday deals in stores and online with special early access for Walmart+ members. Ohio shoppers can visit one of the 138 supercenters statewide to find discounts under $20 along with Cyber Monday savings starting online soon.  The Repository

  • The Ohio Christmas Factory returns for its 2025 edition in Canton with $400,000 to $500,000 in improvements—bringing updated exhibits and festive displays to the event. Visitors can look forward to enhanced attractions that celebrate local holiday traditions.  The Repository
  • Holiday events in Canton and nearby towns offer festive cheer as today, Canton Palace Theatre presents the 'Polar Express' sensory cinema with $10 tickets that include hot chocolate & a jingle bell, while local record stores launch Record Store Day Black Friday with limited vinyl releases. Upcoming attractions include Light Up Downtown on Dec.3 with Santa, live reindeer and fireworks, plus Mount Union choir shows and a big band Christmas concert in Massillon.  The Repository
