- ➤ Max, a dog from Toledo, disappeared nine months ago from his home yard and was found November 9 wandering in Perry Township in Stark County. His owner, Curtis Marshall, drove to Canton to collect his pet and said he suspects Max may have been stolen—officials confirmed his identity by scanning his microchip. The Repository

- ➤ Antique expert Kirk Greaves bought an old travel trunk marked 'Mrs. Wm. McKinley' from his friend Mark Shaheen—he thinks it may have belonged to First Lady Ida McKinley. - ➤ Residents will soon be able to purchase death certificates from any health department for those pronounced dead in Ohio, replacing the rule that limited requests to the local jurisdiction. Stark County Health Department and 27 other counties are launching the Ohio Vital Records System, and the current system will end in December. The Repository

- ➤ Coleman Health Services and Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery are building a behavioral health urgent care center at 2421 13th St. in Canton—with a 19,800-square-foot facility designed to offer 24/7 crisis care for adults and youth, expected to be completed in fall 2026. - ➤ Walsh University senior Claire Rethman finished third in the 6K at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on November 22 (her time was 20:21.3, 10 seconds behind the winner) and earned an All-American finish. Her team placed 27th out of 34 teams (with scoring from Bella Graham, Bailey Menegay, Alyssa Stoner, and Casey Russell), reflecting a strong effort at the national meet. The Repository
- ➤ Mount Union football announced three players earned special Ohio Athletic Conference awards — seniors Kaleb Brown and Kosta Thrasivoulou and redshirt freshman Mikey Maloney received the defensive lineman, defensive back, and offensive back honors — and they will host Muhlenberg on Nov. 29 in the NCAA Division III playoffs.
