  • A fire captain and his daughter were severely burned in a Friday house explosion in Montville Township that destroyed their home, vehicles and personal items. Blue Line Unlimited raised $100,000 and will sell Bronco raffle tickets—money that will support longtime Captain Timothy Tobin’s recovery and his family’s rebuilding efforts.  FOX 8
  • Volunteers from IBEW Local 540 strung thousands of lights on the 25-foot downtown Christmas tree at Central Plaza on Nov. 22 — the tree was donated by longtime resident Sara Paris. Mayor Sherer will light the tree during the annual Light Up Downtown event on Dec. 3 — the event will feature music, fireworks, and a visit from Santa.  The Repository
  • Be Life Church in Canton changed its name from First Church of the Nazarene to clarify its mission—96% of members approved the change—to help more people know Jesus. In North Canton, Community Christian Church is expanding its role as a community hub by planning new outreach programs—focusing on mentorship and family support services.  The Repository

  • The Stark County Port Authority and Canton City Schools approved agreements for the Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment plan to go private—allowing the company to restructure its stadium lease and move forward with a merger. The changes will not affect stadium operations while the firm works to resolve its financial issues.  The Repository

  • Mandwel Patterson threw a last-second pass to Jadyce Thigpen that gave Massillon football a chance of a win + his subsequent sack ended the drive.  The Repository
  • On Friday, Nov. 21, regional finals for Ohio high school football playoffs ended with wins across divisions and 28 teams moving on to the state semifinals on Nov. 28. The state finals will be held Dec. 4—6 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton—marking a key step in the playoffs.  The Repository
