- ➤ On November 17th, Cleveland Clinic donated $2 million to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and eight other groups—part of the Feeding America network—to support hunger relief as local families face rising financial challenges. The donation builds on earlier gifts and will help food pantries offer nutritious meals. The Repository
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The former Wheel Cafe at 223 Third St. NE in downtown Canton was heavily damaged by a fire on Nov. 17 and was set to be demolished along with a neighboring building owned by Steve Coon — firefighters contained the blaze to protect nearby structures, no one was injured, damage was estimated at $80,300, and the owner plans to use the site as parking for a hotel development. - ➤ Perennial Vineyards and Winery, Stark County's first winery, will go to auction on Nov. 29 after closing during COVID with its owners now ready to move on. Open houses will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 22 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 25 to let potential buyers tour the 92-acre property—featuring a winery, farmhouse, and farm equipment. The Repository

- ➤ Country singer Lee Brice will perform at Canton Palace Theatre on Feb. 5, 2026 — tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Nov. 21 and the show is promoted by Hometown Jams who brought Niko Moon to Canton in September. The Repository
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Three anonymous donors established an endowment fund through Stark Community Foundation to honor long-serving educators Kathy Tobin and Kevin Tobin – she taught for 23 years and he retired in August after nearly 29 years of service at Lake, and the fund will offer annual scholarships to Lake High School seniors studying education. The Repository
- ➤ Aultman College will hold an open house on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.—where prospective students can tour the facilities, meet faculty and students, and learn about programs in nursing, radiography, medical assisting and health sciences. The free event will take place at the college on the corner of Dartmouth Avenue and Seventh Street SW. The Repository

- ➤ On Nov. 17, Canton officials approved a $50,000 donation to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank—for SNAP interruptions—to help families facing benefit delays. The funds come from the city's Issue 13 neighborhood funds and will support local emergency food pantries. The Repository
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A Canton mother said her late son, Bryce Dunlap, donated his organs—his liver may have helped former Cleveland Browns player Bernie Kosar recover after surgery. Kosar posted on social media that he was doing good, and Kim Kane said Bryce’s wish to help was honored through LifeBanc’s process. FOX 8
