Charles Prince, who led Shiloh Baptist Church for 16 years, stepped down as senior pastor on October 25 due to health issues — he delivered his final sermon at 10:30 a.m. and will continue preaching while the church forms a committee to choose his successor amid its 100th anniversary celebrations. - ➤ North Canton Hoover won its OHSAA football game over Jackson on October 24th—Brycen Beyer made a 95-yard kickoff return that stood out among the top plays. The Repository
- ➤ Stark County athletes are updating their college sports records this fall. Madison Reemsnyder from Xavier finished 13th at The Ally Tournament in West Point on Oct. 22 with a 2-under 214, and NC State freshman Dani Scheffler finished third in the 6,000-meter race at the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisc—other athletes including Dru DeShields, Matt Kling and Payton Allan also posted key performances in football, soccer and cross country.
