- ➤ On Sept. 27, a statue honoring Thurman Munson was unveiled at Kent State’s Schoonover Stadium as his widow Diana Munson shared memories of his life in baseball. The privately funded memorial — with plans for a scholarship — shows how Munson touched local sports and family life. The Repository
