- ➤ The Navarre-Bethlehem Township Historical Society will host its annual car show on Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Main and Center streets near Nickles Bakery+ vehicles will be displayed along Center Street and in the parking lot with a $10 fee per car, trophies awarded around 3:30 p.m., and food available to buy. - ➤ Hall of Fame Resort Entertainment Co. secured the votes on Sept. 24 to take the company private and the board recommended the change to address mounting debt—HOFV Holdings LLC will buy all outstanding stock for 90 cents per share. The Repository

- ➤ Vintage Canton returns to downtown Centennial Plaza on Oct. 9 with local wineries and international wines from California, Greece, France, Spain and Italy — the event will offer live music, food and artisanal vendors. The Repository
- ➤ Bender’s Tavern chef Eric Notter has worked for 18 months at the historic downtown restaurant and now brings decades of kitchen experience+ fresh ideas like seasonal dishes and a planned caviar tasting to update the menu. He began his career in county fair baking contests and trained at the Culinary Institute of America before returning to Canton to lead the kitchen with both tradition and innovation. The Repository

- ➤ Walsh University in North Canton dropped from 352 to 363 in the U.S. News and World Report 2026 national rankings released on Sept 23. The rankings use factors such as graduation rates, peer review and social mobility to check how well the school is doing. The Repository

- ➤ A 9-year-old boy in Alliance is battling stage 4 neuroblastoma for the fourth time after four new tumors were found, and he will begin daily radiation treatments at Columbus hospitals while receiving hospice care. Local supporters have organized a car parade & card drive for Sept 26 to offer him community support. The Repository
