  • Stark County events offer local residents diverse opportunities as author Katrina Kittle speaks at Rodman Public Library on Sept. 15, Specs celebrates a birthday at North Canton Public Library on Sept. 13, and Timken High School honors alumni on Sept. 25—with fundraisers, concerts, and park activities planned across the region including the First Ladies Library and Museum gala and Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health’s fundraiser on Sept. 20.  The Repository

  • Two Northeast Ohio residents won $100,000 after Saturday’s Powerball drawing when their tickets sold at Beverage Depot in Geneva and Stop N Go in Struthers matched four white balls and the Powerball with the Power Play option—while the jackpot reset to $20 million for the next drawing.  FOX 8

  • Madison Gordon, a Canton South High School senior, won the local HBCU Teen Scholarship Pageant on Aug. 29 (held at Hall of Fame Village's Nash Family Center) and earned a crown, sash and a $1,000 scholarship (for college tuition).  The Repository
  • Mary Ellen Icaza of Stark Library said a library card is more than plastic—it's a key to free learning and future opportunities for families. Stark Library offers storytime, homework help, and digital tools to support school readiness and lifelong learning.  The Repository

  • Hayden Wickard threw three touchdown passes and ran for one as Walsh University beat Wheeling 31–15 on Saturday, Sept. 6 — the win improved Walsh's record to 2–0 and featured receivers Austin Knowles and Trey Martin each gaining over 100 yards while Jake Gill rushed for 116 yards.  The Repository
