- ➤ Mount Union students Kelli Brenner + Tanner Lebo were crowned queen and king at the 176th Stark County Fair on August 26 at the fairgrounds; the event marked a tradition that continues as the fair runs through Labor Day. The Repository
- ➤ Refuge of Hope Ministries is building a new emergency shelter for 32 single women in Canton with counseling, job development, showers, and laundry services. The $5.4 million project will help address Stark County’s shortage of resources for homeless women—providing a safe space and a pathway to independence. The Repository

- ➤ Owners of The Pizza Oven filed a lawsuit asking a judge to terminate its lease at Hall of Fame Village after officials did not deliver on a promised exclusive pizza supply deal. - ➤ Stark Parks began replacing the Sippo Lake Trail bridge set on fire in March. Work started on Aug 25 at Sippo Lake Park and will continue through mid-September — the new bridge is estimated to cost $54,500. The Repository

- ➤ Hayden Wickard threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns in Walsh's 38 to 10 win over West Liberty on August 28, marking his return as quarterback after a redshirt year in 2024.
