  • On Tuesday, August 26, at the Stark County Fair, youth from 4-H clubs showed their animals in events like goat washing, dairy beef judging and poultry competitions using a busy schedule that drew families to the event. Photos captured children working with goats, cows and turkeys and showed the fair's bustling first day.  The Repository
  • Three Jackson Township firefighter-paramedic teams were honored by Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital on Aug 26 for saving a 42-year-old and a 63-year-old man from cardiac arrest and for helping a 25-year-old mother deliver her baby at home—Andrew Bolgiano and Dr. Lane Smith presented the awards at the township meeting.  The Repository

  • A 34-year-old man was indicted on a murder charge in connection with the death of 26-year-old Ryan 'JJ' Godbey—whose body has not been found—and he faces charges for assault, strangulation, domestic violence, tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse, and attempting escape from Stark County Jail with his arraignment set for August 29.  The Repository
  • A new Gmail phishing scam is targeting users as scammers impersonate Google IT support and send fake password reset emails — these messages aim to steal security codes and personal information. Google warns users not to click on suspicious links and to report any fake messages — urging everyone to verify through official channels.  The Repository
