CULTURE NEWS

  • Alliance's Glamorgan Castle is set to hold four more outdoor shows of Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' from Aug. 7 through Aug. 11 at 7 p.m.—the production features veteran actor Jonathan Penner and music by members of Canton Symphony Orchestra as part of the 65th Greater Alliance Carnation Festival.  The Repository
  • At the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum Gift Shoppe in Canton, a special line of America’s 250th anniversary souvenirs is now available including medallions, mugs, and magnets—priced from $4.50 to $17—with shoppers spending $50 receiving a free tote. The America 250‐Ohio commission has approved its blue-and-white logo for promotional use and designated six local communities to get grants for upcoming anniversary activities.  The Repository

  • Stark Area Regional Transit Authority will host a free breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow at its main office at 1600 Gateway Blvd. SE with a facility tour at 8:30 a.m.—residents can also share feedback via an online survey available until Sept. 5.  The Repository

HEALTH NEWS

  • Ohio Valley Physicians Health will operate a 10-bed urgent care center called Access Care at the new Massillon Community Health and Innovation Center with a targeted September opening. The center at 845 Eighth St. NE will treat minor injuries, infections and illnesses and offer diagnostic testing — it will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.  The Repository
  • Tarrezz Thompson, a local Medicaid recipient and small business owner who teaches children, warns that new state and federal work requirements will soon make it harder for low-income families to keep their health benefits. She said that three recent coverage changes—resulting in missed doctor visits and unpaid bills—signal a confusing system that may force many families to lose benefits when the new rules take effect in 2027.  WKYC
