- ➤ On August 14, the Stark County Engineer's Office will host an open house at the Greentown Fire Station (10100 Cleveland Ave NW) from 5 to 7 p.m. to gather public input on plans for a roundabout at the State Street and Cleveland Avenue intersection; a May feasibility study showed that the single-lane roundabout with new sidewalks, lighting, landscaping and crosswalks can ease congestion while construction will begin in 2028 and written comments will be accepted by Sept 13 (deadline). - ➤ Gov. Mike DeWine appointed Janet Weir Creighton of Canton to the Ohio Lottery Commission; her term began Aug. 2 and will end Aug. 1, 2028. Creighton retired as Stark County commissioner in November 2024 and has served as recorder, auditor and mayor of Canton (totaling 40 years of public service). The Repository
