  • Three regional businesses—The Mucci Team at Keller Williams Legacy Group Realty, Freedom Title Agency and Christopher Lynch from Cross Country Mortgage—partnered to help pack 400 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, Rev. Franklin Graham’s holiday charity. They hosted a Christmas in July event at 91 Wood Fired Oven and will hold a packing party from noon to 2 p.m. on Nov. 16 at Freedom Title Agency.  The Repository

CRIME NEWS

  • A 19-year-old Canton man was fatally shot on Aug. 1 at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital at 3:42 p.m.—the victim's name was withheld for family notifications while 25-year-old Deontae K. McCollum was arrested on charges of murder and felonious assault, though it is unclear if his arrest is linked to the shooting.  The Repository

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Wall Street Journal and Realtor.com reported that the Canton-Massillon housing market was ranked No. 2 in their summer housing report, with a median home listing price of $272,950 in June. The report, released July 24, showed the region had been ranked No. 5 in spring and No. 1 in winter — a sign of steady value for area buyers.  The Repository

  • Eric Allen was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 2 in Canton—he was honored alongside Jared Allen, Sterling Sharpe and Antonio Gates and thanked his family, mentors and supporters during his speech.  The Repository
  • On Saturday in Canton, Sterling Sharpe gave his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction speech at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and honored his brother Shannon, marking them as the first siblings in the Hall — a moment that recalled cherished family memories and a treasured Super Bowl ring symbolizing their close bond.  The Repository
  • Marv Levy turned 100 today as more than 110 Hall of Fame legends gathered in Canton to sing Happy Birthday at the Pro Football Hall of Fame; Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas said Levy taught players (and family members) to be better friends, and the Class of 2025 (who hosted the enshrinement) honored his legacy.
