- ➤ A motorcyclist died after a two-vehicle crash on July 26 on Frank Avenue near Mega Street NW in Jackson Township—58-year-old Larry A. Jeffries Jr. of North Canton lost his life when his 2000 Indian Chief collided with a Chevrolet Silverado making an improper left turn as he was not wearing a helmet. The Repository

- ➤ Brooke Fiegenschuh, 18, was crowned the 2025 Greater Alliance Carnation Festival queen on July 26th at Alliance High School after being chosen from 17 contestants, and she said she felt amazing stepping out of her comfort zone. She will study psychology at University of Mount Union this fall while the festival runs from July 31st to Aug. 10th. The Repository

- ➤ The C.A.M.P. program helps Canton City students prepare for college and careers by offering seminars, mentoring, college visits, scholarships and financial aid guidance. 18-year-old Tooba Sindhu used the program to navigate the college application process and will attend the University of Michigan this fall to study mechanical engineering — a move that shows the program's growing impact in our community. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship fundraiser will take place July 30 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings in Massillon—located at 235 Lincoln Way—where 15 percent of food and nonalcoholic beverage sales will help raise up to $1,000 for a Washington High School band member heading to college this fall.
