- ➤ Foxfield Preserve in Stark County is seeing more green burials—averaging about one burial a week—as families choose natural resting options using biodegradable containers over traditional methods. - ➤ Matthew Stroia was sworn in as North Canton's new mayor on July 25—he is the 25th leader of the city. He will file petition signatures by Aug. 6 for a two-year term starting Dec. 1 and replaced Stephan Wilder, who endorsed him. The Repository
- ➤ Warren native David M. Toepfer was sworn in as the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Ohio in Cleveland—appointed by Attorney General Pam Bondi on July 23—making him the first Youngstown-area lawyer in over 117 years to hold the office. The Repository
- ➤ The Ohio Department of Transportation said lane restrictions will start Monday on Interstate 77 between the Tuscarawas County line and Fohl Street SW in southern Stark County as crews work on highway resurfacing and bridge repairs in Bethlehem and Pike Townships. The work will continue through October and drivers should plan for extra travel time. The Repository
