- ➤ The Old Farmer's Almanac predicts a cool, dry fall for Ohio and expects below average temperatures and rainfall in Stark County for September and October—but the National Weather Service forecasts a warm, wet fall statewide with a 40% to 50% chance of above average temperatures. The Repository
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Stark County commissioners approved a $66,539,278 construction price for the largest public works project in county history, which will add a new pod-style housing unit for inmates. A groundbreaking is set for 10 a.m. on August 15 — the project is expected to take two years and finish by the end of January 2028 without new borrowing. The Repository

- ➤ Maxwell Moldovan earned his first PGA Tour-sanctioned win at the PGA Tour Americas ECP Brazil Open in April when he sank a 50-foot putt for eagle on the 18th. The former Green High School and Ohio State golfer said his work with a mental coach and his faith helped him regain confidence—he now looks to build on his success in future tournaments including the U.S. Open.
