- ➤ Today, the Mills Historic Tower in downtown Canton opens the Canton Marketplace where over a dozen food and artisan vendors will offer grab-and-go meals and homemade treats, and McKinley's Tavern will serve primarily beer and wine—free parking will be available after 4 p.m. on nearby lots. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Canton code enforcement officers inspected Victory Square Apartments on July 8 and found that conditions at the three-building complex—located at 1206 Lippert Road NE, 1209 Eighth St. NE, and 1223 Eighth St. NE—have continued to deteriorate. The City of Canton provided photos documenting the poor upkeep. The Repository

- ➤ Mount Union senior third baseman Chris Viamonte, who posted a .964 fielding percentage with 24 putouts, 83 assists and five double plays turned, has been named to the ABCA-Rawlings NCAA Division III Gold Glove Team + making him only the second Purple Raider to win the award. Other top honors this season include baseball All-Americans Jaired Lehman and Alex Stegman, lacrosse All-American Katie Clark + Clyde A. Lamb Award winners Mary Mason and Tyler Echeverry.
