- ➤ More than two weeks after a tubing accident near Gorge Metro Park on June 21 took the life of 5-year-old Braxton Cross, over 100 volunteers and the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department searched the river on July 7 for his 27-year-old father Patrick Cross—officials said further searches will continue as water conditions allow. - ➤ Jackson Township trustees set a public hearing for a rezoning request by Vail Capital Group LLC to change 25 acres on Brunnerdale Avenue NW and Perry Drive NW from a rural residential district to a planned unit development district+ if approved, the owner will build 51 ranch-style single-family houses on lots ranging from 7,529 to 24,493 square feet. The hearing is at 5 p.m. July 16 at township hall. The Repository
- ➤ Ohio lawmakers passed a new law that requires online porn sites to verify users are at least 18 using photo IDs or other records. The law will take effect at the end of September and businesses that do not follow it may face civil lawsuits—aiming to protect minors from explicit content. The Repository
