- ➤ Stark County is set to host many community events in the coming days including a bike ride honoring Congressman Ralph Regula on June 21 starting at Canal Fulton and a classic car show at the McKinley Presidential Library with registration from 9 to 11 a.m. Other planned events include free outdoor movies in Canton, family festivals, fishing tournaments, live music, and cultural programs—offering a wide range of activities for local residents. - ➤ Georgia Paxos, executive director of Canton Palace Theatre for almost 18 years, leads the theater in hosting diverse shows and advancing the Palace 100 Project—she is originally from the East Coast and now lives in North Canton with her family—and ties her love for football to her community work. - ➤ The Canton Professional Educators’ Association awarded scholarships to seniors and honored Karen Zutali as Educator of the Year and Officer Lamar Sharpe as Layperson of the Year at its spring banquet—while the Brown Local Board of Education named Christy Yeagley as the new principal of Malvern Elementary School, Plain Local Schools earned a national Award of Excellence for Eagle Nation Magazine and Heritage Christian School received a bronze pro-life leadership award to be formally recognized at the Essential Summit this fall.
