Today, EOG Resources, a Houston-based energy company, announced plans to acquire Encino Acquisition Partners (a $5.6 billion deal) that will increase its Utica acreage from 675,000 to 1.1 million acres in Stark, Columbiana, and Carroll counties and boost its free cash flow, with the transaction expected to close in the second half of this year.
