CRIME NEWS

  • The Stark County Sheriff's Office is asking for help to find two missing Plain Township juveniles, Tashya, 15 in a black-and-white hoodie and Tajane, 16 in a blue tie-dyed shirt, who left a residence on the 3800 block of Ennis Circle NE on foot around 5:30 p.m. June 10 and have not returned—officials urge anyone with information to call 330-430-3800.  The Repository

CULTURE NEWS

  • Country Fest will see Dierks Bentley — who first headlined the event in 2010 — return as headliner tomorrow at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park in Lawrence Township; he will launch his new album and join acts like Zach Top, Bailey Zimmerman and Hardy during the festival that runs from June 11 to 14.  The Repository
  • Stark County native Karissa Ella, a Hoover High grad who once admired Country Fest as a fan, will perform at Country Fest on June 13 at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park in Lawrence Township—she will also sing in Massillon on July 11 as she follows her music career dreams.  The Repository
  • Country Fest cofounder Aaron Green spoke with the Canton Repository about his favorite concert and the artist he dreams of booking while outlining plans for the festival running from June 11 to 14 at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park. He recalled a dropped beer keg at the first event in 2010 and offered simple tips on avoiding heavy traffic and long work days—his careful planning makes the festival run smoothly.  The Repository

HEALTH NEWS

  • More than 1 million dozen eggs are being recalled because they may be contaminated with Salmonella and were sold under multiple brands at Ohio Walmart stores. The FDA advised customers to return the eggs for a full refund & is working with the firm to see if they were distributed elsewhere.  FOX 8

SPORTS NEWS

  • At the Ohio High School Athletic Association track championships in Columbus last weekend, Hathaway Brown won the Division II girls title and Huron tied for the Division III boys crown while Garrettsville Garfield’s Conner Hunt swept the 100, 400, and 800-meter dashes (for the third year in a row). Twenty-three Northeast Ohio schools won state titles in 30 events.  WKYC
