- ➤ Downtown Canton Partnership will launch the new Downtown Canton Blues and BBQ Festival—scheduled for July 11-12 at Centennial Plaza—to revive local blues music and support downtown businesses with live bands, barbecue vendors and a craft beer garden. - ➤ Canton City Council approved a five-year, 4.5-mill parks and recreation replacement levy for the November ballot on June 2+if voters approve the measure, homeowners will pay an extra $65 a year while the levy generates $6.38 million starting in January for needed improvements. The Repository
- ➤ ODOT announced that today the western side of Eastern Road at the state Route 21 intersection will close as crews remove the road surface to rebuild it. The $30 million project will finish by June 2026—drivers will follow detour routes—while work continues on nearby intersections. The Repository

- ➤ Voters last week selected the Stark County High School Athlete of the Week from candidates in Marlington, Massillon and McKinley based on performances from May 26 to June 1. Votes closed at 5 p.m. on Thursday and winners were announced Friday morning — one girl and one boy were chosen by local sports staff. The Repository
- ➤ Coach Kevin Stefanski said he is not paying attention to public overreactions to the Browns’ four-man quarterback competition—featuring Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders—as the team works hard in practice. Sanders will get 11-on-11 reps today while the quarterbacks are further evaluated in upcoming OTA sessions and minicamp starting June 10—an essential step in choosing the opening-day starter.
