Breeze Airways announced the return of its nonstop flight from Akron-Canton to Los Angeles—operating twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays with one-way fares starting at $119.

Breeze Airways resumed nonstop seasonal service from Akron-Canton Airport to Los Angeles on Thursday using its Airbus A220-300 aircraft and offering fares as low as $119 one-way—flights operate on Thursdays and Sundays.

The airline also recently launched a crew base that will add 61 full-time jobs and over $11 million in annual payroll, with plans to expand its service from CAK this fall.

A Canton woman named Deborah won the top prize of $150,000 on the Ohio Lottery’s Blast scratch-off game after buying her ticket at a GetGo station on 104 Raff Road SW.

The lottery announced the win on May 21st and she will take home $108,000 after 28% in taxes.

Memorial Day will be observed on Monday, May 26, so key services like USPS, banks, and garbage collection in Canton will be paused while many retailers including Meijer, Kohl's, and Giant Eagle will operate on holiday hours (with some stores like Costco set to remain closed).

Residents are advised to check local schedules to plan ahead for the holiday.
