CRIME NEWS

  • Demetres Givens and Jamie Thompson, a Canton couple, are facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and endangering children for the death of their 3-year-old child, and bond has been set at $1 million—pending further court action.  WKYC

  • Today, the Canton area offers a range of events including a comedy show with Glen Tickle & Ricky Glore at Roxy Theatre in Minerva at 7:30 p.m., the musical 'Newsies' at Players Guild Theatre on Kent State’s Stark campus, and a sunset hike on Hoover Trail at 8:30 p.m. Upcoming attractions include the Divine Mercy Parish Festival in Massillon with live music, rides & food, Canton Ballet dancers earning over $75,000 in scholarships from a Scranton festival, a planetarium show at The Wilderness Center at 11 a.m. May 17, and a summer movie series starting June 24 at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State.  The Repository
