- ➤ Canal Fulton and Lawrence Township firefighters rescued two women who were in distress on the Tuscarawas River at 3 p.m. Saturday — they used a throwable flotation device and a swift water rescue technician to guide the women, who were wearing personal flotation devices, to the shore near the canal boat dry dock.
