  • Executive director Ashley Natale leads The Children’s Toy Fund in Perry Township by delivering toys to hospitalized children, with her organization having provided 20,828 toys across Northeast Ohio last year. The initiative (started in the early 1990s for Akron Children’s Hospital patients) continues to brighten hospital stays locally.  The Repository

  • The Better Business Bureau warned that consumers booking travel online through unofficial sites faced extra charges and canceled flights after a scam was reported yesterday in Canton. Residents are urged to verify booking sites & use secure payment methods before purchasing tickets.  The Repository

  • Sue Grabowski, chair of the ArtsinStark Campaign for the Arts, said yesterday — May 10 — that local programs such as SmARTs and Alpha Romeo Tango boosted creativity and helped veterans heal, while vibrant arts efforts bolstered the local economy and community spirit.  The Repository
  • Researcher Yiorgo Topalidis is mapping Canton’s Ottoman Greek migration using data from Flagler College and plans to return in 2027 to expand his study. His work highlights the community that built Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in 1917.  The Repository

  • Malone University appointed Rachel Hunka as its new campus pastor on May 10 — President Gregory Miller noted her extensive experience in campus ministry — to strengthen the school’s spiritual leadership.  The Repository
