CRIME NEWS

  • Marlboro Township police caught a white pony on Swamp Street Tuesday — the animal was seen at Danbury Glen allotment in Lake Township and taken in by a local farmer while officers search for its owner.  The Repository

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Alliance Rotary Club is seeking 2 to 3 local families to host an Ecuadoran student who will attend Alliance High School during the 2025-2026 academic year — the host families will welcome the student as a family member and share cultural activities while taking on costs for room, board and school supplies.  The Repository

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Food and Drug Administration recalled bread sold at Ohio Giant Eagle stores after glass fragments were found on bread from Upper Crust Bakery sold between April 7 and April 12 (including Ancient Grains Hoagie rolls, Multigrain Sourdough rolls and Whole Grain Multigrain rolls). The recalled bread was distributed in Ohio and in Pennsylvania, California, Connecticut, Maryland and Delaware, and consumers are advised to discard or return any affected products.  The Repository
  • Trader Joe’s recalled its Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon sold in Ohio after a packet of parmesan cheese crumbles was found instead of crispy onions—about 500 units were affected and customers allergic to milk should discard the product.  The Repository

  • According to the Wall Street Journal/Realtor.com spring ranking, five Ohio communities including Toledo, Canton, Akron, Youngstown Warren and Dayton are ranked among the nation top 20 housing markets plus Toledo leads the list with strong buyer demand and rapid home price growth; the ranking uses median home prices and cost of living to gauge market appeal.  The Repository
