  • After 46 years, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival Community Parade in Canton will take place on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 10:30 a.m. The change is meant to ease participation conflicts and take advantage of cooler morning temperatures.  The Repository
  • On Saturday, police across Northeast Ohio prepared for No Kings demonstrations + they ensured plans were in place to uphold free speech and maintain order in communities including Canton.  WKYC

CULTURE NEWS

  • The National First Ladies Library and Museum in downtown Canton offers free entry to exhibits that document the legacy of U.S. first ladies; guided tours of the historic Saxton-McKinley House cost $7 (operated with National Park Service support).  The Repository
  • Canton native Eve L. Fontes earned acclaim for her guest spot on a new song featured on J. Cole’s album. Her performance highlights local hip-hop talent and creativity.  The Repository

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Stark Parks and Fat Head's Brewery in Plain Township have teamed up to support spotted turtle conservation. They will launch the Hakuna Guttata Hazy IPA on April 6 (5 to 8 p.m.), with food and beer purchases helping fund research and treatment.  The Repository
