- ➤ ArtsinStark (Stark County’s arts council) is accepting ArtsImpact grant applications from April 1 to May 15 for creative projects that support arts, education, and community well-being; an in-person session is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 9 at the Cultural Center for the Arts. The Repository
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ House Bill 114 now requires children to be 5 by the first day of public kindergarten, starting Aug. 24 at Tuslaw Elementary. The law standardizes enrollment cutoffs and may push some families to consider private or charter schools if their child misses the deadline (as one case showed). The Repository

- ➤ Stark County Engineer’s Office and ODOT seek comments on a proposed bridge replacement for Easton Street in Plain Township. The project, set to begin in June 2027 with a 180-day closure (detours via state Route 44, State Street, Werner Church Road and Middlebranch Avenue), invites input by April 28. The Repository
- ➤ Prairie College Street SW in Canton Township will be closed from March 30 through late April for bridge repairs and drivers will follow a detour via Sherman Church Avenue to state Route 627/Faircrest Street to Dueber Avenue. The Repository
