- ➤ The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank launched its 35th Harvest for Hunger Campaign on Feb. 27 at the John S. Knight Center, setting a goal of 4.8 million meals and $1.6 million to support local families amid record distribution last year (the efforts respond to recent federal and state funding cuts). - ➤ The film A Paralyzing Redemption, about Rev. Brian Ziegler’s recovery from paralysis after a 2000 crash, will debut at 3 p.m. March 8 at RiverTree Christian Church (7373 Portage St. NW) in Jackson Township. General admission tickets cost $10. The Repository
- ➤ Historian Kimberly A. Kenney shared her favorite presidential artifacts, including items at the McKinley Museum (home to the largest McKinley collection) and a Bible on which McKinley took his oath that will be donated from South Carolina. - ➤ Massillon defeated Jackson 79-76 in an OHSAA matchup in Stark County on Friday, Feb. 27. Key plays from Isaiah Lamp and Jadyce Thigpen drove the game as both teams reacted with strong bench support and close defense until the final buzzer. The Repository
- ➤ During Friday’s state swim prelims at the Branin pool, Stark County sophomores from Jackson and Perry posted top times in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, while Hoover seniors competed in a last dance ahead of Saturday finals; the meet will continue through 2030 in Canton. The Repository
- ➤ Canton South and West Branch competed in an OHSAA Division IV Northeast 3 sectional final (held at West Branch Field House) on Friday, Feb. 27. The Repository
