CULTURE NEWS

  • Massillon Museum has the Heart Gallery art exhibition showing local portraits of children awaiting adoption (organized by Stark County Job and Family Services) open through March 1. The exhibit is viewable during museum hours, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.  The Repository

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Inter-Valley Conference announced on Monday, Feb. 16 that it is seeking new member schools for the 2028-29 school year after several schools joined a new league. Schools interested in competing must send a formal letter to IVC President Rob Clarke (deadline March 8).  The Repository
  • Timken Co. awarded 20 scholarships on Feb. 12 as part of its Global Scholars Program — a total of $27 million invested in education since 1958. The awards include the Henry Timken Scholar Award for Cader Payne Beitler and the Jack Timken Scholar Award for Frederick Song.  The Repository

FINANCE NEWS

  • Diebold Nixdorf in north Canton reported a 1.5% revenue increase to $3.81 billion for 2025 and a rise in operating profit to $242 million while projecting revenue to reach $3.94 billion in 2026 — CEO Octavio Marquez credited strong cash flow.  The Repository

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Stark County Children Services is joining a state fellowship program to offer paid placements to students studying human services (including sociology, psychology, and criminal justice) to build a future workforce in children services. Candidates are being considered for the summer session to gain hands on experience.  The Repository

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Feb. 12, the FDA classified a recall of over 20,000 Ventura Foods LLC peanut butter products due to blue plastic contamination, affecting items sold in 40 states (Ohio included) while Kentucky is not involved.  The Repository
