- ➤ Stark State College President Para M. Jones was named the inaugural recipient of the Greater Akron Chamber Chairman’s Award for Community Leadership; she will be honored on March 11 at the John S. Knight Center + her work links education with local workforce needs. The Repository
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Farmers from Stark, Carroll and additional counties are eligible for USDA emergency loans (covering equipment, livestock and debt refinancing) due to drought. They can apply until May 22. The Repository
- ➤ Tuscarawas Township approved a new three-year fire service deal with North Lawrence and Brewster departments, purchased a new road paver to replace an old machine, and secured a state grant to repair a century-old headstone at Brookfield Cemetery. The township also hired a new administrative assistant and retained its law director. The Repository
