- ➤ The 51st Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration took place at McKinley High School where senior Dajeun L. Dickerson Jr. sang and received a special youth award, highlighting local talent and community spirit. The Repository
- ➤ Antiques collector Brian Ellison bought a 1850s chest of drawers believed to have been used by president Lincoln’s son (Tad) and is asking Stark County residents to share any details on its local ownership and history, which may boost its historical value. The Repository
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents of Perry Township will see upgrades to public buildings, Fasnacht Farm Park, and a new website in 2026. The township is also planning design changes along Lincoln Way (in collaboration with Kent State’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative) and will complete energy upgrades with a $299,655 state grant. - ➤ Walsh University Athletics won the NCAA Division II Award of Excellence for its Cav Salute initiative in North Canton, which honored veterans, active duty members and first responders and raised over $1,600 for veteran groups.
